MINUTES

 The meeting was called to order at 10:10 am by Helen Bledsoe, President, at the Grand Valley Bridge Center in Grand Junction, CO.

 Board members present : Vicki Lamb, Alison Regan, Judy Tirpack, Jean Paradis, Gloria Kohls, Pam Elsner and Paul Hackbert.

Board members absent: John Spurgeon

 Secretary’s Report: there being no additions or corrections, the minutes of our December 5, 2010 meeting were approved as written.

 Treasurer’s Report: our account balances as of January 17, 2011 are as follows:

2 CDs: $17,819.87  Checking Account:  $6,997.49  Overall Total: $24,817.36

 Election of Officers: the Board voted for the following officers:

**Please note that because John was not present at the Board meeting, although he was appointed to the position of Tournament Coordinator, he will be asked if he would like to accept this position.

2011 Directory Update: Jean will send an email to each club owner requesting that they ask their members to submit any address or other changes they may have to the directory.

2011 Tournament/Unit Game Schedule: we determined dates for tournaments and unit games for this year, which are as follows:
Unit Game, Sunday, February 13, 2011, Grand Junction, CO
Doc Holliday Sectional, April 15-17, 2011  Glenwood Springs, CO
4 Corners Sectional, June 10-12, 2011  Montrose, CO
Peach Sectional, August 5-7, 2011  Grand Junction, CO

There was a discussion regarding holding more Unit games outside of Grand Junction. Alison will email club owners to ask if any of them would like to hold a Unit game. Available months are: March, May, early September and November. Vicki will work on a Membership Appreciation Game schedule. Also, a tournament chair is needed for the Doc Holliday Sectional. Helen talked to Patti Payne, who will talk to Avi. She will get back to us. The set-up will be the same as before: no food can be taken in, but snacks can be passed out. A taco bar will be available between sessions. Vicki will talk to Linda Deaton regarding flyers for this tournament as soon as she gets all of the information.

2012 Tournament Schedule: the dates determined so far are:
Doc Holliday Sectional, April 20-22, 2012   Glenwood Springs, CO
Peach Sectional, August 3-5, 2012  Grand Junction, CO
Vicki will talk to Barry regarding the 4 Corners date, and to Gail in Montrose regarding the Black Canyon Tournament date in September.

December 5, 2010 Game Results: there were problems with scoring at the game, which resulted in a delay in posting scores to the ACBL. Also, there has been difficulty in sending the results via computer. However, the overall combined scores may be viewed on our webpage.

Directors Fees, Unit Games: a motion was made and approved that from now on, directors of Unit games should be paid $50.00 for 0-10 tables, and $100.00 for 11 or more tables.

Our next 2 Board meetings will be on March 16^th and May 4^th, 2011.
